Social Entrepreneurship and Socially Conscious Businesses Take Center Stage

Social Entrepreneurship and Socially Conscious Businesses Take Center Stage

Consumers today are increasingly caring about the social consciousness of the companies that they do business with. In fact, according to Nielsen, a company that provides consumer insight, 55 percent of consumers globally report that they are even willing to pay more for products and services provided by companies that are committed to being socially and environmentally responsible. This is good news for those wanting to turn a profit, but yet not compromise on helping society to become a better place at the same time.

“At a sports philanthropy conference I attended last year, one of the speakers said  “the intersection of your passion and competence is your significance,” explains Leena Patidar, chief executive officer of Coin Up. “This is the foundation of why I chose social entrepreneurship. I can apply my expertise in building innovative companies, while making a world of difference.”

Breakthrough PTSD Program for Veterans to go Nationwide

Breakthrough PTSD Program for Veterans to go Nationwide

Veteran’s Day provides us with an opportunity to place a renewed emphasis on our nation’s veterans, as they heal and transition in the aftermath of 15 years of war. It is estimated that more than 700,000 post-9/11 combat veterans are battling post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); as evidenced by a suicide rate of 20 per day, a number that has grown every year since 2002, it is clear that the current approaches are not working.

In August 2015, the Journal of the American Medical Association declared that “new innovative and engaging approaches for the treatment of PTSD are needed.” Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness is embracing this challenge through the development and delivery of Warrior PATHH (Progressive and Alternative Training for Healing Heroes), a new and innovative approach that should be scaled across this country.

Denim will continue to grow as a need, especially those brands that can offer a comfortable fit, high quality, and can keep up with the trends in the industry.  California fashion styles are always in demand because when they are LA-inspired people flock to them, putting them in high demand.
