Counterfeit Merchandise Sold in Local Thrift Store

Fairfax County Police Department, along with the United States Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Blazer Investigations, recently seized thousand dollars worth of counterfeit merchandise.

The investigations began this past winter with a complaint from a customer who was sold counterfeit goods from the “Unique Thrift Store” in the 2900 block of Gallows Road.  Shortly after the complaint, Fairfax County Police Department launched an undercover investigation and several search warrants were executed.

An estimated $841 thousand dollars worth of “Knock-off” designer brand shoes, boots, purses, sunglasses, DVDs, CDs, jewelry, perfume, and clothing were seized as a result of the investigation. It has been determined that the goods were manufactured and shipped from China, and once inside the U.S. fake labels and tags representing designer brands were attached to the goods.

If you have more information about the fraudulent merchandise please call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.
