A Super NOVA is a person with a unique talent or business that makes them stand out in the crowd of Northern Virginia. Executive Chef Thomas Elder is this week's Super NOVA for having an on-site sustainable garden right outside the door of his new restaurant. Do you know any restaurants that have a garden a few footsteps away from the kitchen? restaurant härth is now open and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Hilton McLean Tyson's Corner. The restaurant got it's name from the wood-burning oven that is at the center of the kitchen. härth's menu includes American comfort food with a modern twist. 

Executive Chef Tom Elder is excited about his on-site garden that will grow mint in the mint patch to make his signature mojitos, 2 beehives, and an area for hot peppers to name a few crops. Check out the video to see Chef Elder show us around his on-site garden. 

Besides having a garden a few steps away from the kitchen to grow fresh ingredients, the Hilton's härth will also bring a weekly farmer's market to the hotel parking lot. "The concept is really farm to table and supporting the local community," said Elder. The restaurant parking lot is located just off of 495, so they hope to see lots of good traffic once it is up and running.
