Top 40 Basketball Preview With Fairfax Guard Zack Burnett | News

FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- Fairfax guard Zack Burnett is ranked number 37 in Kevin Jones' upcoming list of Boys' Top 40 local high school basketball players.

On February 20,  Campus Correspondents for Chantilly High School, Daniel Fay and Steven Klein, caught up with Burnett after the Rebels' 54-51 OT victory against W.T. Woodson.

"Throughout the year we've been practicing and we've just learned to get strong with the ball and just get it across half court and then set up on offense," said Burnett of his squad's response to the Cavaliers' defensive pressure.

Fairfax's journey to states ended at the Virginia AAA Northern Region semifinals where the Rebels fell to Edison, 69-65 in OT. 

Burnett, a 6-foot, 170 pound junior, finished the season with 511 points and is known throughout Virginia's AAA Liberty District for his excellent three-point shooting. He will be a major threat his senior year.
