Wildfire to Host Pork and Pinot Wine Dinner

This was sent to us from Wildfire Restaurant in Tyson's Corner:

Join us at Wildfire for a five course dinner featuring farm fresh ingredients from Round Hill Virginia’s Bay Haven Farm. Each course will be paired with a hand-selected pinot noir as Anna and Daniel Cohen, owners of Bay Haven Farm, share with us their journey from city to country life.

The evening will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Wildfire, Tysons Galleria, 3rd floor, McLean, VA. The reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and wine pairings at 7:00 p.m. Seating is limited.  Please call Michelle Bringham at (703) 442-9110 to reserve a table.

Favorite Restaurant

So, I have been in Chicago for the past few days getting out and checking out the sites - it is crazy how much that town has changed since I lived there. It’s always good to get back to my roots and the food there – unreal. I forget how many great restaurants there are out there and that is probably because I spend my life in one. So, I need some help. I don’t have much time to get out so I need some recommendations for some of Virginia and DC’s best restaurants. Any type of food, any type of ambiance – I just want to know what the next place is that I should try. Hook a brother up.

Also, in case you want to follow me further, check out my blog at http://stevenlukisblog.wordpress.com/. Look forward to seeing you there.

New Firehouse Subs Location in Fairfax

Firehouse Subs has been expanding aggressively in its 14th year of business. In particular, they have big expansion plans for the Washington D.C., Fairfax, Manassas and Kingstowne communities. The newest Firehouse Subs shop is located at 12120 Fairfax Towne Center.

What’s so special about Firehouse Subs? Each medium sub comes with 4 ounces of meat, that’s the same amount of meat as some competitor’s 12 inch subs. All of the subs contain hand-sliced and premium quality meat. Moreover, Firehouse Subs are served hot using a steamer that adds moisture, unlike a microwave.

The theme of the sub shop is derived from the 200 years of public service as firefighters the owner's family possesses. The décor and the sandwich names play off this fun firefighter theme.
