From Carol Nahorniak:

CHANTILLY, VA –- Celebrate Fairfax, Inc. is proud to present its newest family friendly event: FROSTIVAL.  The second annual FROSTIVAL is an exciting winter-themed family festival, with programs targeted to elementary and pre-K aged children. FROSTIVAL is set to take place December 30, 2010 through January 2, 2011 at the Dulles Expo and Conference Center, 4368 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, Virginia.

At the end of the winter holiday break, families are looking for experiences combining entertainment, interactive activities and programs for the family to take part in together.  Celebrate Fairfax’s FROSTIVAL is just that event.  Designed to engage event visitors in a family-friendly atmosphere, the FROSTIVAL will include more than 15 winter-themed crafts, interactive science activities and games, professional and local celebrity storytelling, 15 bounces, slides and rides, two stages featuring nationally recognized children’s performers, as well as numerous exhibits and vendors.

In support of Western Fairfax Christian Ministries and Passion 4 Community, two local non-profit organizations, the FROSTIVAL will be hosting a “Coats & Cans” Drive to collect canned food items as well as new and gently used winter coats to provide to families in need.  For every one coat and/or two canned food items donated, donors will receive one entry into a raffle for a chance to win four ski lift passes and a three day / two night stay at Massanutten Resort.

Advance discounted tickets and weekend passes for FROSTIVAL are on sale now at www.FROSTIVAL.com. Grandparents Day is Thursday, December 30th. Grandparents 55+ get free admission with a valid ID. Military Appreciation Day is Sunday, January 2nd and all active duty military and veterans will receive free adult admission with a valid ID. Offers only valid only at the door.  For additional event details, visit www.FROSTIVAL.com

Due to the wide array of activities and programs, the FROSTIVAL is in need of several hundred volunteers to make this event a success.  Volunteer shifts are in 4 hour blocks and volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.   Volunteers will receive free admission on the day they volunteer, a snack and beverage item, and a FROSTIVAL t-shirt.  If interested, please call 703-324-9423 or email CelebrateFairfaxVolunteers@fairfaxcounty.gov.

FROSTIVAL is presented in part by Verizon, Verizon Wireless, Suburu and other sponsors.
